It is well known that every closed subscheme of an affine scheme is affine[1, Exercise 3.11.b]. In this paper we study the dual problem for open subschemes. A scheme is called strongly affine scheme if all open subschemes of it are affine. We prove that an affine noetherian scheme of dimension less than two is strongly affine.
