چکیده
The global industrial sector, encompassing energy-intensive processes such as cement, steel, chemicals, and refining, is responsible for approximately one-third of global energy consumption. The escalating global industrial energy demand necessitates a decisive shift towards highly efficient, reliable, and scalable renewable sources. Solar energy, particularly through Photovoltaics and solar thermal systems, stands as a cornerstone for this transition. Key advancements focus on next-generation photovoltaic (NGPV) materials, such as high-performance perovskite solar cells and tandem cell architectures, which promise significantly higher power conversion efficiencies than conventional silicon, thus reducing the required footprint for large industrial installations. Furthermore, innovations in Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technologies, including advanced thermal storage solutions and high-absorptivity coatings, are enhancing the dispatchability and stability of solar power to meet the continuous operational needs of manufacturing and processing industries. Integration technologies, such as smart grid connectivity, advanced monitoring via IoT sensors, and AI-driven predictive maintenance, are crucial for optimizing system performance and minimizing downtime in industrial environments. This study focuses on evaluating and synthesizing the potential of next-generation solar technologies specifically tailored to address the demanding requirements of heavy industry. This includes an in-depth look at: 1. NGPV: Advancements pushing the limits of conversion efficiency for electrical needs. 2. Advanced CSP: Technologies capable of generating process heat at temperatures required for foundational industrial processes. 3. System Integration and Smart Management: Strategies for ensuring 24/7 dispatchability and optimizing solar input within complex industrial energy matrices. The integration of these advanced solar solutions is no longer a distant prospect but a near-term necessity for achieving intended targets, in energy-intensive sectors like industries.
