چکیده
Although crystal violet (CV) is as a useful and common dye in different industries such as textiles, pharmaceuticals dyeing, and etc., it is perceived as a recalcitrant compound due to its non-biodegradability. CV has carcinogenic, mutagenic and dreadful effects for human [1]. Accumulation of CV in body would result in dangerous diseases such as hypermobility, abdominal pain, vomiting, and respiratory failure [2, 3]. In this research study, the potential of palm tree sheeth as an efficient biosorbent to adsorb crystal violet from aqueous solution was investigated. To this aim, the effect of diferent parameters such as pH, temperature, time, initial dye concentration and amount of biosorbent on the removal (%) were investigated. The optimum conditions of 9.14, 44.61 °C, 25 min, 261.01 mg L-1 , and 20 mg were achieved for pH, temperature, time, initial dye concentration, and biosorbent amount, respectively. The results showed that maximum adsorption percent of 99.5 ± 0.4 (predictably) and 99.1 ± 0.1 (experimentally) were obtained under the optimal conditions. The experimental data were found to be suitably fitted to the Langmuir model.
