Indigenous people living near the ancient sites play an important role in the exploration, identification, conservation and effectiveness of tourism industry in these sites. Lack of participation or low participation of these people can reduce the implementation of any planning in these areas. This research, presented a theoretical model for explanation the villagers participation in preserving plan of the sites. This model has been tested among the villagers near the ancient archeological sites of Jiroft. According to the theoretical model, variables such as: “Individual and collective cost-benefit evaluation”, “Villagers attitude to the ancient archeological sites” and “Normative perceptions of the villagers to the preserving plan of the sites”, as the main factors influencing the villagers participation in preserving plan of the ancient archeological sites. In order to test this theoretical model, a survey method with deep interviewing tool was used, the questionnaire was used with projective and positioning techniques. Based on the findings of the experimental model, suggestions have been given to increase the participation of villagers in the protection of the sites and the artifacts at the national and regional levels.
