“Poetry is the image of man and nature” (Wordsworth, 165). When aspects of nature are reflected in the poetry; they can be the expression of the one who has created them; because poetry is the expression of the inner nature of man. Victorian age which came after the romantic era includes poetry of nature and the natural phenomena too. The notion of nature was more realistic than the romantic's notion of it. It was not base on ideal and beauty. But it was something that could bring harsh, disharmony, disorder, unhappiness and death to the life of people and itself. Spring as the concept which this paper is dealing with it, is the source of freshness, life, eternity, fertility, beauty, blossoming and cleanness, but Christina Rossetti and Thomas Hardy, the Victorian Poets, depicted this season in different way from what ever it seems to be. This research will be a library study; data, ideas and different sources will be gathered. And Poems will be analyzed, criticized and explained individually, then the whole comparative analysis will come in a form of conclusion.
