چکیده

The production of fabrics with new properties such as thermal regulation, flame resistant, self-cleaning, electrical properties, etc., has attracted great attention during the last years. Among these properties, the electrical conduction has attracted particular attention [1]. Among the conducting polymers, polypyrrole (PPy) has attracted great attention because of its high electrical conductivity and good environmental stability. PPy has been considered as the key material to many potential applications such as electronic devices, electrodes for rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors, solid electrolytes for capacitors, electromagnetic shielding materials, sensors, corrosion-protecting materials, actuators, electrochromic devices, or membranes. The heteroaromatic and extended p-conjugated backbone structure of PPy provide it with chemical stability and electrical conductivity, respectively.[2] Biochar (BC) is the carbon-rich product obtained when biomass, such as wood, manure, or leaves, is heated in a closed container with little or no available air. In more technical terms, BC is produced by so-called thermal decomposition of organic material under limited supply of oxygen (O2) and at relatively low temperature (<700°C)[3]. In this study, wool fabrics were coated with Polypyrrole/Biochar composite and the effect of various parameters such as pH, treatment time and temperature on the conductivity of the fabrics was studied. This wool-Bc/PPy exhibits high electrical conductivity under various conditions. The FT-IR spectrum confirmed the structure of BC/PPy composite.
