Herein, lead oxide (PbO) nanoparticles were successfully fabricated using Rosmarinus officinalis. The photocatalytic activity of PbO nanoparticles was evaluated for the degradation of methylene blue as an organic dye. About 91% of photo-degradation of methylene blue dye was achieved in 60 minutes under solar irradiation. The obtained results revealed that the PbO nanoparticles could be used as a low-cost green photocatalyst for the efficient degradation of methylene blue from aqueous media in environmental pollution clean-up.
