چکیده

Extensive samplings were conducted on rice fields infected by agent of rice crown rot in Mazandaran Province as well as bean farms infected by anthracnose in Zanjan province, Iran, during 2014. Fungal isolations were conducted using single spore method. During isolation of rice crown rot and anthracnose agents, some other fungal isolates were grown on water agar (WA). Fungal species identification was performed using morphological features and molecular data (ITS regions were amplified by ITS1 and ITS4 primers). Among the fungi, also Volutella ciliata (on bean sheath) Asodesmis microscopica and Westerdykella purpurea (on rice root) were identified. Colony of V. ciliate on PDA, reaching 9.1 cm after 7 days, surfa -septate, ellipsoid, Ascodesmis microscopica On PDA, fully covered the petri after seven days at 25oC in darkness. surface and reverse cream. Westerdykella purpurea Colonies appressed, cream on oatmeal agar; attaining 4.3 cm diam after 7 d at 25 °C, producing distinct, brownish black cleistothecia, containing globose to subglobose asci (12 18 × 11 ascospores. According to the knowledge, Volutella ciliata Ascodesmis microscopica and Westerdykella purpurea are three new taxa for mycobiota of Iran.
