Abstract
The simulation for the material response to short duration impact loading still poses certain difficulties and the analytical solutions mayturn out to be complex, according to the structure type of governing equations to be solved. As an alternative to FEM, in this paper, thelocal radial point interpolation method (LRPIM) is developed for the investigation of time dependent problems in solid mechanics. Theaccuracy of present algorithm is proved by comparing the obtained results with the published works.
