A magnetically supported ionic liquid, guanidinium hydrogen sulfate on Fe3O4 nanoparticles, has
been synthesized and evaluated as a recoverable and efficient catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of spiro
[pyrazole-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine]-dione derivatives via the reaction of 3-amino-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one
with aryl aldehydes in good yields under mild experimental conditions. The magnetic catalyst could be
separated from the reaction mixture with the assistance of an external magnet. The catalyst was characterized
via X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscope
(SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Furthermore, the structures of the new compounds
were fully characterized by their spectral data IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR
