چکیده

Porous materials are a significant category of solid materials whose pore sizes vary from a few to several hundred nanometers. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs), as a novel generation of crystalline framework materials with organic porous structures. Owing to the noticeable features of COFs, including high surface area, permanent porosity, high selectivity, and channel-like structure, COFs have many applications in photocatalytic activities, gas separation, purification, and energy storage. This chapter will first review the characteristics of COFs and their application in separation science. Then, the efficiency of COFs in air purification and gas separation will be discussed. The chapter also focuses on the specific uses of COFs in the removal/adsorption of various pollutants, such as toxic gases, catalytic degradation of harmful gases, and volatile organic compounds from air/gaseous matrices. Moreover, the future overview of COFs in air purification and gas separation will be discussed.
