Sesbania sesban extract solution (SSL) was used as a reducing and stabilizing agent for the synthesis of colloidal
silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The effect of time on the formation of nanoparticles was investigated using
ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. The AgNPs were synthesized after 25 min and characterized by high-resolution
transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The average sizes
of nanoparticles were estimated to be between 10 and 30 nm. The XRD of AgNPs, after 4 months, showed the
stability of nanoparticles in air. The effects of silver nitrate concentrations and SSL concentrations on the
morphology and size of synthesized AgNPs were observed by SEM.
