چکیده

The application of metal nanoscale particles (NPs; size range 10−9 m) is rapidly increasing in various urban and industrial areas, such as pharmaceutics, cosmetics, consumer products, transportation, energy, and agriculture. Nanoparticles are modified forms of metal elements with different biochemical properties that result in unpredicted biological effects in living organisms when compared with those of microscale particles (MPs; size range 10−6 m). Nanoparticles influence various plant growth and developmental stages and may induce negative or positive effects in a dose-dependent manner. Recently, the application of agricultural nutrient fertilizers in nano form to increase the availability and efficiency of nutrients to plants has been highlighted. However, the influence of chelating agents in a combination of nanoparticle metal nutrients has not been fully addressed. In this chapter, a perspective on NPs’ use and effect as agro-fertilizers and their interaction with chemical chelates is comprehensively summarized and discussed.
