چکیده

In order to determine the effect of zinc and iron foliar application on quantitative and qualitative yield of essential oil of Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) under dry farming condition, an experiment was carried out at agricultural Research Center of Mahan, Kerman during 2011-2012. Field Experiment was conducted in split plot design based on randomized completely block (RCB) at three replications. Main plots included dry farming and normal irrigation and sub plots were treatments of zinc, iron, zinc+iron foliar application and non-foliar application (water). Results showed that maximum BM and HI were 1069.82 kg/hec and 54.6% in dry farming and normal irrigation with Zn+Fe foliar application respectively. Means comparisons effects showed that zinc and iron foliar application had significant effect (a>0.05) on essential oil and its components. Maximum essential oil percentage and essential oil yield were 1.89% and 9.45 kg/hec in dry farming with Zn+Fe foliar application. Foliar application significantly enhanced cumin aldehyde and ρ-cymene and decrease β- pinene, ϒ-terpinene and α-pinene in cumin oil.
