Abstract
The escalating global energy demand and the imperative for sustainable practices necessitate innovative approaches to energy management. Emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), are transforming energy management approaches with the introduction of features like predictive analytics, real-time monitoring, and automated control. This study explores the synergistic applications of AI and the IoT in revolutionizing energy monitoring, optimization, and management systems. IoT technologies provide a pervasive network of sensors and devices capable of collecting vast amounts of real-time energy consumption data from diverse sources, including smart grids, industrial facilities, and residential buildings. AI, particularly machine learning algorithms, then processes and analyzes this rich dataset to identify intricate patterns, predict future energy demand, detect anomalies, and derive actionable insights. The integration of AI and IoT enables advanced capabilities such as predictive maintenance of energy infrastructure, dynamic load balancing, intelligent fault detection, and personalized energy consumption recommendations. These capabilities contribute significantly to enhanced energy efficiency, reduced operational costs, and a smaller carbon footprint. Furthermore, AI-powered optimization algorithms can intelligently control energy systems, adjusting parameters in real-time to maximize efficiency and integrate renewable energy sources seamlessly. This study discusses the benefits and challenges associated with deploying such integrated systems, highlighting their crucial role in shaping a more efficient and sustainable energy future. By overcoming the remaining challenges related to security, interoperability, and governance, AI and IoT will cement their role as the indispensable foundation for a future characterized by truly efficient, resilient, and sustainable global energy management.
